Privacy Policy — FocusNoise

FocusNoise ("the app", "we", "us") is published by Ayman ("the developer"). This policy explains what information the app does and does not collect.

TL;DR: FocusNoise generates all sounds on your device. It does not collect personal information, does not require an account, and works fully offline.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

Your name, email, phone number, or address.
Your contacts, photos, files, microphone input, or camera.
Your precise or approximate location.
Audio recorded from your device.

Information Stored Locally

The app saves the following on your device only, using Android SharedPreferences. None of it leaves your device.

Your selected noise type, volume, and intensity.
Your theme preference (light / dark).
Your timer and session preferences.
A flag indicating whether you have removed ads via in-app purchase.

You can clear all of this by clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Network Use

The app declares the INTERNET permission for two optional purposes:

Advertising (free version only). FocusNoise displays ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect a limited set of identifiers for ad delivery and measurement as described in Google's Privacy & Terms. You can opt out of personalised ads via your Android device's "Ads" settings.
In-app purchases. Purchasing the ad-free upgrade is processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles your payment information; we receive only the anonymous purchase token.

If you remove ads via the in-app purchase, the app does not make any further network requests.

Permissions We Request

FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK — to keep audio playing while the screen is off, with a media-style notification.
WAKE_LOCK — used optionally so playback isn't interrupted by deep sleep.
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — for ads and in-app purchase only.

Children

The app is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from children. Ads are configured via Google AdMob's family-safe content filters where available.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will appear at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
